We pride ourselves on offering beautiful, high-quality lab-grown diamonds — and we believe knowledge is the foundation of a confident purchase. This short guide explains what lab-grown diamonds are, and why they are worth choosing.
What are lab-grown diamonds?
Lab-grown diamonds — also called synthetic or laboratory-created diamonds — are diamonds created in a controlled laboratory environment.
They share the same physical, chemical and optical properties as natural diamonds, making them indistinguishable from their mined counterparts to the naked eye.
How are lab-grown diamonds made?
Two principal methods are used:
High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT)
This method mirrors how diamonds form in nature, applying immense pressure and heat to carbon. Over several weeks, the carbon atoms crystallise into diamond.
Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD)
A diamond seed is placed in a chamber filled with carbon-rich gas. The gas is ionised into plasma, and carbon atoms settle onto the seed, growing the diamond layer by layer.
